Suitcase.com has released its 2011 Consumer Luggage Report.
The survey, as a follow up to last year’s inaugural report, revealed that increased airline fees, along with tighter security guidelines and regulations, continue to directly impact consumer behavior.
Additionally, consumers are placing a greater emphasis on the desire for lightweight, durable and feature-rich luggage, including new technologies and unique, artistic designs.
“Customers are taking a lighter approach to luggage this year, from lightweight, expandable options for ease of travel, to fun and trendy designs that make a statement,” says John Ebb, Suitcase.com CEO. “Features such as wheels, retractable handles and expandability continue to reign, but improvements in the economy have buyers looking at luggage in a new way, whether for conveniences or style.”
